The mission is for broadband availability reaching all Americans. The Government is currently; 1. Promoting broadband in areas that do not have it. 2. Regulating the treatment of broadband services. 3. Encourage Americans to invest in broadband technologies 4. Stimulating innovation in the services offered. 5. Generate competing services, such as satellite and cable internet, thus they compete more realistically. 6. Educate consumers the benefits related of broadband, hoping for creating more demand for the technology. As trend of broadband availability is spreading across the country, there are more and more people taking advantage of it. Alternatives of broadband availability have been likely growing as promising business like coffee houses, libraries, and other hot spots to access public broadband connections. The much faster speed of information delivery to consumers would help stabilize and grow the American economy as well as will increase technological advances. The government wishes to have those living in more rural, agricultural areas not lag behind when it comes to technology. With expanding of broadband availability location will be no longer an obstacle.
